Which version do you prefer? One is neatly painted in portrait format and the other is loosely painted in landscape format. This Northern cardinal from Canada is the subject. I was asked if we could paint a winter bird. I often ask my students if there is anything they would like to cover in class. This is one of them. Loosely painted one

I am a bird person so like the first one as it is unusual to us in GB

Love the first one, would look very festive on a card 😊😊

I like the one on the right with the tiny red paint splatters near the tail. It looks as though it’s shaking its tail feathers x

This was my lesson for my Acrylics classes this week The main objective was to learn how to use multiple layers of paint with glazes in between. This helped to both create the idea of distance and portray Autumnal misty conditions. My peacock planter Made at my lovely evening class at Poynton pottery. It didn’t turn out exactly as I planned …but that’s all part of the learning curve! I’ve been experimenting with acrylic inks on top. …and I’m still going to try more! I love the glass effects in ceramics… the bright colours and the translucency. I shall keep experimenting until I’ve worked it out!! 🤩👩‍🎨🎨Image attachmentImage attachment
